Our purpose
Let’s face it, things are pretty messed up and they have been for a long time. In a context of global climate change, addressing the root causes of disaster - colonisation, social marginalisation, economic inequality, rapid urbanisation, political instability - is more important than ever. This requires just, equitable and intersectional approaches that engage all parts of society to transform the structures and systems that produce and entrench disaster risk. Critical to this task is the creation of spaces and relations for collective learning, action and reflection.
At Leadrrr, we are focused on reducing disaster risk through collaborative, multidisciplinary, cross-sectoral projects that bridge research-policy-practice divides. We work to foster meaningful change by conducting rigorous and ethical participatory projects that privilege the perspectives and experiences of those living with risk. We collaborate with government departments, emergency management agencies, local communities, schools, non-government and philanthropic organisations, universities and private industry. If you would like to collaborate with us, get in touch: hello@leadrrr.org
